00PM) Initial training may occur on different shift other than your regularly scheduled shift.
Mandatory overtime is dependent on department needs.
POSITION OBJECTIVE The Quality Control Inspector, or QCI, is responsible for ensuring the quality of product produced meets and or exceeds the Forte' Products Acceptance Criteria Standard and any customer requirements, specification and standards.
The QCI will monitor product during assigned shift for all stages of production.
The QCI will perform dock audits for all product.
The QCI assists in training of production personnel in quality standards.
The QCI must lead by example in the areas of Safety, Quality, Attendance, Attitude, and Flexibility in the job.
ORGANIZATIONAL SUPERVISION, REPORTING AND INTERFACE The Quality Control Inspector reports directly to the Director of Quality Assurance.
This position interfaces with all levels of employees and external customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain a safe working environment.
Consistently lead by example and act as a team player Identify inspection requirements of material and components received, administer necessary inspections, and identify status of product Knowledge of all product/part acceptance criteria Knowledge of Forte' Products Acceptance Criteria Knowledge of all fixtures and devices required to manufacture a quality product Conduct inspections at each machine for in-process product Conduct Final Inspections of product prior to being transferred to RTS storage Conduct Dock Audits on RTS good prior to ship Ability to identify calibration status of instruments and understand the calibration procedure Administer Nonconforming Product Procedure Correctly identify status of product according to color coding system Keep inspection documents, and other Controlled Documents and QMS documentation properly filed and organized Be able to prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly workload to effectively cover all requirements of the job description Knowledge and usage of part measuring devices, calipers, ruler, micrometers, Ultra Sound Thickness, Infrared Temperature Gun, Thermocouple Thermometer, Stop Watch and others as added Maintain all testing results on the proper forms accurately and legibly Assist in training of personnel Assist in ensuring that the requirements listed in the Forte' Products Quality Manual are understood Perform machine & process audits Monitor the usage of Work Instructions, BOMs and scrap reporting documents/procedures Communicate with operators, lead, Production Supervisors, and Quality Supervisors/Managers of any issues regarding quality And other duties as directed by Supervisor SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED Must meet all requirements of the Quality Control Inspector Job Description Must perform and meet all requirements for all items of the Quality Control Inspector checklist.
Good computer skills (email, Microsoft Word and Excel and Access) Excellent safety and attendance records Must be able to effectively and courteously communicate with fellow employees Must meet or exceed requirements in each area of last performance review Must be able to work successfully with minimal supervisor Understand 5S requirements Maintain safe, clean and organized work area Be flexible with shift work and overtime.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS High school education, GED, or equivalent experience Knowledge of all product/part acceptance criteria, including Fort Products acceptance criteria Working knowledge of quality expectations Knowledge of 5S requirements Basic math skills Ability to write and complete necessary paperwork Basic tool or power tool knowledge ENVIRONMENT Employee will perform duties indoors throughout the non-climate-controlled general production area and occasionally in the office area.
Employee must continuously remain in a stationary position and be readily able to move throughout the production area.
Employee must be able to ascend and descend to different levels of the building.
Employee will occasionally move short distances in the facility during the course of the scheduled shift.
Employee will frequently move objects from one level to another, up to 50 lbs.
Employee will frequently move objects, requiring up to 30 lbs.

Employee will frequently move or transport objects, up to 20 lbs.

Employee will frequently move and place objects in varying sizes.
